I Don’t Belong Here… Or Do I?

Have you ever felt like you’re just playing “grown-up”? Like any moment now, someone’s going to knock on the door and say, “Ma’am, we’ve reviewed your credentials, and you’re not qualified to be doing this thing you’re doing.” Yep—same.

That sneaky little voice is called imposter syndrome, and let me tell you—it shows up at the most inconvenient times. When I started my Pampered Chef business, I had zero culinary training, no sales experience, and a major case of “who-do-you-think-you-are?” syndrome. I mean, I didn’t even really cook until I was 50! (Shoutout to all the late bloomers—you’re my people.)

But here’s what I’ve learned: That voice isn’t truth. It’s fear wearing a headset. Fear of failing, fear of being seen, fear of success (yes, that’s a thing too).

And you know what shuts it up? Action. Every party I host, every meal I whip up, every time I share a tip that helps a busy mama feed her crew—I prove that voice wrong. Not because I’m perfect, but because I show up anyway.

So if you’re feeling like a fraud today, hear this:

You are not alone.

You are not an imposter.

You are in progress—and that’s powerful.

Let’s keep rising, one imperfect, brave step at a time.
